A 24 strong Yi delegation travelled to Mexico to attend the G20 Young Entrepreneur Summit held between 2-5 June 2012 at the Mexico City. The third of the summit in the series, with the previous ones being held at Canada and France, the theme for this years summit was "Young Entrepreneurs: Building Dynamic Businesses that foster growth and job creation"; keeping the focus of this G20 Alliance and its intention to create entrepreneurship as a source of economic growth and job creation.

Babson Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Project Apart from the sessions, there were two working groups by Ernst and Young, one each on "Access to Funding" and "Regulation and Taxation". In the session on regulation and taxation, Ms Anupama Arya, National Chairperson of Young Indians and President of the Indian Delegation to the G20 Young Entrepreneur Summit to Mexico was one of the panellists in the session. She spoke about the need for sharing best practices on the taxation front. The members of the Indian delegation also participated in round table discussions organised by McKinsey & Company on "Entrepreneurial Culture", "Funding" and "Entrepreneurial Ecosystem".
Alongside the main summit, the interim meeting of the Presidents and Sherpas of the G20 Alliance Members countries was held to discuss on topics related to the alliance and its progress for the future. Ms Anupama Arya, Mr Srikant S, the National Vice Chairman of Young Indians and leader of the delegation and Mr D Thulasiraj, National Head of Yi and Sherpa of the Indian delegation participated The last day of the summit saw the President of Mexico, Mr Felipe Calderon interacting with the members of the alliance.
The G20 Interim Meeting, called as the Leadership Assembly had a mix of many meetings - started with formalising the goals of the G20 Young Entrepreneur Alliance and review of work done to promote entrepreneurship by the G20 member countries. This was followed by the committees led reporting back on the work done, their recommendations based on which there were discussions and debates. These committees included Steering Committee and Committees on Membership, Marketing, Fundraising, Governance, Strategic Planning and Events. Each of these committees made a presentation and followed this with a task list to be carried out post the New Delhi meeting and beyond. It was also discussed and decided that the Membership Committee would be headed by USA, Strategic Planning by Turkey, Governance Committee by India, Marketing Committee by Canada, Events by Mexico and that the Steering Committee would be composed of the countries that have hosted the past, present and forthcoming summit and heads of the other committees. Ernst & Young made a presentation highlighting the need for G20 YEA members to forge an effective relationship and how the countries benefit with the entrepreneurship barometer. A brief presentation on the forthcoming G20 Summit at Mexico between 2-5 June 2012 was made and discussions end with their welcome to the members present for their summit.
