“Insights into Family Business”
About Family Business
History acknowledges the fact family business is the oldest and most common model of economic organization. The vast majority of businesses throughout the world from corner shops to multinational publicly listed organizations with hundreds of thousands of employees can be considered family businesses. Based on research of the Forbes 400 richest Americans, 44% of the Forbes 400 member fortunes were derived by being a member of or in association with a family business.
Objective of Session
Two Generations formed in different era, would have diverse perspectives. Working together could mean harvesting the dividend of diversity. That would be called complementation. On the other hand if not managed well, it would result into generation gap and cause a conflict. Family business would mean transmission of wisdom to the next generation who would do well to learn in the shadows of the father and eventually sit on their shoulder to take the business to new heights.

Employee Engagement is a
fundamental concept in the effort to understand and describe, both
qualitatively and quantitatively, the nature of the relationship between an
organization and its employees. An "engaged employee" is defined as
one who is fully absorbed by and enthusiastic about their work and so takes
positive action to further the organization's reputation and interests. An
engaged employee has a positive attitude towards the organization and its
values. An organization with "high" employee engagement might
therefore be expected to outperform those with "low" employee
engagement for up to 202%.
