About us

Young Indians (Yi) is a movement for Indian youth to converge, lead, co-create and influence India’s future. It builds empowering avenues for the nation and its young minds through various youth development and leadership programs. It is an integral part of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), a non-profit, not-for-profit, industry-led, industry-managed organisation that plays an active role in India’s development process.

Through thousands of impactful projects and activities divided primarily into three areas: “Youth Leadership”, “Nation Building” and “Thought Leadership”, Yi hopes to emerge as the premier Indian youth organisation working towards the holistic development of young minds and having a voice on platforms that solve India’s problems. Yi grooms its members for offices of significance by imbibing in them a sense of social responsibility and also helps Indian youth to converge, collaborate and co-create using an expanding digitally enabled network.

Under Youth Leadership, Yi works effectively to promote leadership skills for its members through various programs in entrepreneurship and innovation. Yi is the proud founder of the G20 Young Entrepreneurs Alliance (G20 YEA) and the Commonwealth Alliance of Young Entrepreneurs – Asia (CAYE-Asia), that engage youth in international missions to many countries around the world to understand and learn from best global practises and cultures. They give the youth of our country an opportunity to connect with the global network of young entrepreneurs. Yi’s student wing, ‘Yuva’ engages over 50,000 young, dynamic students from various educational streams with leadership initiatives and youth entrepreneurial development programs.

Under Nation Building, Yi engages its members to be responsible citizens through its projects such as MASOOM, Climate Change, Accessibility, Health and Road Safety. Yi also works in the broad categories of education, environment, healthcare, employability, arts (sports & culture), rural initiatives, accessibility, and disaster management, positively impacting the surrounding eco system and the nation’s holistic development.

Under Thought Leadership, Yi engages its members through a Contributory Movement of Constructive Action, Collaborative Reasoning and Collective Voice. Giving justice to the meaning of thought leadership, Yi conducts learning sessions with industry experts to impart experiential learning through interactions and discussions. Yi Leadership Academy (LA) upholds the founding principles and values and instills the same in its members through the Yi Leaders Fellowship Program. Yi organises its Annual Flagship Summit, TakePride, to come together as one and celebrate Yi’s achievements in youth and nation development, brainstorm over the future roadmap, and share and showcase the effort of its membership from across its 57 chapters.

With twenty years of glorious past and decades ahead that promise nothing short, Yi intends to become a larger movement of young people and their leading thought with a conviction in “We Can, We Will”.
