Yi Health Week 2022 was organised from April 4th to 10th, across all the chapters. It had its leaders sign the Yi Health Pledge as a commitment in the presence of Hussain Rasheed, Regional Advisor, WHO Regional Office for South East Asia, New Delhi.
32 Yi Chapters started their Health Journey during the health week with 875 units of blood collected, 3000+ rural Indians screened through health camps, members walking or cycling 5814 kilometers, and 7000+ children made aware of mental health issues and menstrual hygiene through awareness talks. There was also an endorsement for Yi’s viral campaign with a video message from Shri Krishna Devarayulu Lavu, Andhra Pradesh Member of Parliament.
Yi Health Identity has a lotus flower representing the journey from darkness and pain to light and healing, i.e., holistic health and wellness. The Circle with the Dots represents the Chapters and Yi’s intent to bridge the various stakeholders in the pursuit of a healthy city by 2030.
The Yi DBM conclave in Kolkata successfully put mental health at centre stage with Mrs. Neerja Birla, Chairperson MPower, sharing her mission to promote mental health in a holistic and healing manner.Â
Despite scientific advancements, there is no replacement for blood. With Gift an Organ becoming a part of the Health Vertical, the Yi Donor Premier League got launched to promote blood donation. It was a huge success, saving about 5586 lives. Raipur collected the most units of blood.
International Day for Yoga 2021 saw the participation of 7,166 Yi members. Yuva and Thalir members across all the Yi chapters in India actively participated in the reviving yoga sessions.
