Yi Hosts Masoom Summit “Abhayam” in Hyderabad – A Call for Child Safety
Young Indians (Yi), part of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), hosted its flagship Masoom Summit – Abhayam in Hyderabad, focusing on child safety and protection.
The summit was inaugurated by Smt. Seethaka, Hon’ble Minister of Women & Child Development, Telangana, who stressed the need for stronger policies to safeguard children. Mr. Shivaprasad Reddy, Chairman, CII Telangana, also graced the event.
National Chair of Yi, Mr. Tarang Khurana, along with the Masoom team Jyotsana Singh, Bhavin Pandey, Shivani Loya, Alok Agarwal, and Vinoth, led the initiative, supported by the Hyderabad Yi team under Ashwin Agarwal, Poonam Agarwal, Pooja Lalwani, Arshiya Afsar, and Wasim.
Highlights included a fireside chat with IPS officer Ms. Shikha Goel on cyber threats to children, and the presence of actor Sai Dharam Tej, who extended his support to the cause.
Panels featured voices from RATI Foundation, Mukta, Vanita Datla, and Mamta Raguveer, discussing technology as a shield for child safety. Mr. Sanjeev Sharma (NCPCR) and Dr. Rakshit Tandon (Cyber Security Expert) delivered special addresses on policy collaboration and digital safeguards.
Unique collaborations included Chhota Bheem as a child safety mascot by Mr. Rajiv Chilaka and a sign-language Komal video with Akshaya Akruti Foundation.
With 250 participants including educators, NGOs, influencers, and students, the summit will culminate in a White Paper of recommendations to be shared with the Ministry.
Abhayam stands as a strong reminder that safeguarding children is a collective responsibility and a moral duty.
